Because sometimes therapy is expensive, but God is free and faithful.
Healing isn’t linear. Some days you’re praising with your whole chest, and other days you’re crying on the bathroom floor asking God why you feel like leftovers in your own story.
I’ve lived through that — still living through it. But these ten Bible verses? They’ve been anchors. Pillars. Sometimes the only reason I made it out of bed.
So if you’re grieving, tired, numb, or just not okay — this one’s for you.
1. Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
When I felt invisible, this reminded me that God was right there in the room. Not just watching from heaven but close. On the floor with me. Holding me together when I didn’t know I was falling apart.
2. Isaiah 41:10 – “Do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.”
Sometimes we don’t need a new word. We just need to be reminded: He’s with us. Through the ghosting, the trauma, the anxiety, the guilt. You’re not carrying it alone.
3. 2 Corinthians 12:9 – “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
I used to think God needed me to be strong. Joke’s on me — He actually shines brightest in the places I’ve tried to hide. His grace covers where my willpower ends.
4. Lamentations 3:22-23 – “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed… his mercies are new every morning.”
This verse carried me on those mornings where I felt unlovable. When you feel like your past disqualifies you, God says new mercy, babe. Try again. You’re still covered.
5. Psalm 147:3 – “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
God doesn’t slap a verse on your pain and call it a day. He binds wounds. That’s intimate. That’s close. He sees your mess and sits with you in it — healing at your pace.
6. Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him…”
Some of the worst seasons of my life ended up producing the most powerful growth. Even when you can’t see how this pain could possibly be good — trust that He’s still cooking something beautiful behind the scenes.
7. Psalm 30:5 – “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
Grief doesn’t have a curfew. But this verse gave me permission to believe that joy wasn’t gone forever — just late to the party.
8. Philippians 4:6-7 – “Do not be anxious… and the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Anxiety has hands, okay? But this verse reminded me that peace isn’t passive. It guards you. God’s peace fights for your mind when you feel under attack.
9. John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you… Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Not “temporary relief” peace. Not “maybe if I journal hard enough” peace. Jesus-level peace. The kind that doesn’t flinch even when life sucker-punches you.
10. Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
This was the verse I clung to when religion exhausted me. Jesus didn’t say, “Get it together and come back.” He said, “Come messy. Come tired. I’ll hold you.”
✨ Final Thoughts
These verses didn’t make the pain disappear overnight — but they reminded me that healing with Jesus is possible. That broken doesn’t mean worthless. That soft doesn’t mean weak. And that this journey is holy even when it’s hard.
If you’re reading this and barely hanging on — know that God sees you. He’s near. And you’re not too far gone.
